3. 11. 2026 | Local Action Plan for Education, Education Department, Education How can vegetables and legumes be prepared so that they are not only healthy but also tasty for children? Representatives of school canteens, nursery and primary schools, and the Prague 1 Municipal District Council looked for answers during the second working and tasting meeting of the Healthy Eating Working Group. It took place on 22 October at the school canteen on Dražického náměstí. The joint meeting brought together 23 people, who presented their own recipes, tasted the prepared dishes, and exchanged experience from their everyday work. The main topic was vegetables and legumes, their diverse use, and ways to naturally include them in children’s menus. It turned out that legumes do not have to mean only classic lentils or peas. For the tasting, participants prepared, among other things, salads made with red and black lentils, homemade hummus in several versions, a chickpea spread with cocoa and honey, chickpea fritters, or a warm chickpea salad with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and Balkan cheese. There was also cabbage soup thickened with yellow pea flour, as well as a potato and celeriac bake.
