Temporary protection holders must now pay a residence permit fee
From January 22, 2026, temporary protection holders who previously received residence permits free of charge are no longer exempt from the administrative fee, which is 50 CZK.

On January 22, 2026, the exemption from the administrative fee for temporary protection holders, whose residence permits had previously been issued free of charge, came to an end. From now on, the fee for issuing such a permit is 50 CZK for all persons, regardless of the basis of their stay. Temporary protection holders will also pay it. The administrative fee can be paid on site by payment card.
