Applications to conservatories are open from 1 to 30 November this year
The Ministry of Education (MŠMT) has moved conservatory applications to November, earlier than for other secondary schools. This also matters for Ukrainian families whose children want to study music, dance or drama.

On 7 October 2026 the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports announced that applications to conservatories in this school year can be submitted from 1 to 30 November 2026. That is much earlier than for other secondary schools. The change applies from the current school year. The ministry explained it by the wishes of the conservatories, because their admission process has its own specifics. For Ukrainian families whose children plan to apply, this means there is little time to prepare documents and register for auditions. Check the entrance exam dates and the required documents on the website of the conservatory you choose.
